Castelvecchio di Rocca Barbena

is in  the list of “Italy’s Finest Medieval Villages” and has also achieved the “Orange Flag of the Italian Touring Club”. It is a typical medieval village built on the top of a hill overlooking  the road which, along the Neva river, leads from Albenga to the Tanaro valley. The castle built by the Clavesana family in the XI century has been modified over the centuries.  The parish church consecrated to Our Lady’s Assumption in Heaven and the Tower Square  with Saint Mary Magdalene’s oratory are certainly remarkable.
