Portofino

Maupassant described the most famous resort in Liguria as “a little village, Portofino, that envelopes like the arch of the moon around this calm basin “.

Popular destination among writers, poets, aristocrats and actors, the Piazzetta (small square) in Portofino has seen its elite success grow. Walking up from the Piazzetta to the Lighthouse, you meet many wonderful places. From the parvis of St George church you can enjoy the most famous view in the world, with the pastel coloured painted façades of the village. Walking onwards you reach the spectacular Brown Castle, overlooking the gulf. Proceeding further more with the walk through the green of the rich vegetation, you reach the Lighthouse on the peak of the promontory: in front of you is the open sea.
