Arenzano

The extreme west of the Province of Genoa hosts Arenzano and Cogoleto, famous tourist centres, very crowded even in winter time thanks to the mildness of their climate and the wide choice of sporting and cultural activities offered: this is where the Apennines are closest to the sea in the whole of Liguria, a paradise also for hiking and outdoor activities lovers.

Many pilgrims come to Arenzano to visit the Sanctuary of “Gesù Bambino di Praga”, rich in precious ceramic and majolica works from Albisola. The parish church is devoted to SS. Nazario and Celso and it has an interesting baroque façade and works by the Genoese School in the interior. The Park Negrotto Cambiaso is worthwhile a visit too, especially in spring during the FlorArte exhibition. The Castle, today seat of the Municipality, and the monumental Art Nouveau greenhouse in iron and glass, set in the age-old park, offer moments of tranquillity and harmony.

The bike lane, named after Fabrizio De Andrè, is impressive: it was cut out from the old railway tracks along the sea promenade
